Retrospective Note 2023: I gotta give it to my buddy Caleb for getting me into this band. I remember hearing some of their stuff growing up, but it wouldn't be til I met this guy back in 2010 that I'd truly discover their awesome discography. Now when a new record drops like this one did back in 2016, I'm able to keep up with his musings. He's certainly one of the most passionate people when it comes to his favorite artists, and Metallica is most definitely one of them.

If this doesn't capture the plight of my generation's coming of age, I don't know what does.
Retrospective Note 2023: I'm so blessed to have a mother who supports all I do and doesn't care about the money aspect of things. The same absolutely can NOT be said for the other people in my family, like aunts, uncles, etc, but their voices no longer carry weight like they used to. There was a point a few years ago where it finally sunk in that hey, I'm in my mid 20s, why am I even listening to these people's opinions about me and my siblings? I don't need that in my life. NO one, needs that in their life. Save your energy, and lean into the ones who love and support you best. I'm so much better for it, and it makes traversing this capitalist nightmare of a life, just a little easier.
